Running with My Voice I attended two courses at APA - Discovering Your Natural Voice and The Feldenkrias Method for Public Speakers. The course instructor is Sean Curran. In these courses Sean worked with us to calm ourselves and create a sense of safety and confidence, which we can bring with us to any environment. He also led us to explore how to use our voice freely, powerfully and with pleasure. Using the Feldenkrais Method and specific voice exercises, we learned how to breathe better, improve our articulation and develop a speech delivery that is natural and clear. On Dec 2, 2007, I got up early in the morning. Starting in Victoria Park. I ran along the seaside to Central. Then took a ferry across the harbour and ran from the Tsim Sha Tsui East Waterfront Park to Hung Hom. On the way, I tried to practise the methods I learned in the courses while running. To my surprise, I could make a great variety of sounds without losing my breath. After I was running and "shouting" for half an hour, I became very comfortable with this method. Then I made up a song and sang along the way. I even got so excited that I could not resisted to recite a poem. I brought a camera and recorded some video clips on the way. It's fun. I liked it very much. I made a short movie and put it here. Please click the PLAY button to start. |
